Our Story

Tyretracks is a proudly family-owned and independently operated business in the heart of Hamilton’s Te Rapa Gateway. The Lowther family took over Tyretracks in September 2010, and since then, we’ve grown into a purpose-built facility equipped with state-of-the-art technology.

Owner Matt Lowther oversees the workshop while leading front desk sales, ensuring customers receive expert advice and top-quality service. At Tyretracks, we believe in delivering great tyre prices without compromising on quality.

We welcome everyone—whether you need new tyres, a wheel alignment, or expert assistance, our friendly team is here to help!

Matt’s passion for tyres, wheels and wheel alignments knows no bounds. Being a wheel aligner himself, Matt likes to make sure things are done ‘right’ every time. Matt the ‘problem solver’ often gets referrals to diagnose various tyre, wheel and wheel alignment issues. Matt has visited tyre manufacturing plants in Korea, China, Vietnam and Italy giving him an insight into the technology, research and development that goes into each tyre. Matt has been in the tyre industry for over 30 years, so he will certainly help you decide on the best tyre or wheel option for your vehicle. Matt is “hands on” at Tyretracks which many customers really appreciate.

1. Safety & Customer service

Easy access – whether you have a boat, caravan, large ute or camper, you will find access to Tyretracks very easy and hassle free with plenty of parking space.

Child friendly – we have a comfortable waiting lounge with restrooms, toys and fresh cold water.

Safety first  – all wheels fitted to your vehicle at Tyre Tracks are checked by hand and set to the recommended torque settings before you leave our shop.

Location Location Location – a short stroll to the Base shopping centre. Do your other chores while you get your tyres fitted.

2. Bargain tyre prices

Lever free tyre changing – there’s no way we can damage your wheels, our tyre machine has a laser index and is lever free.

Independently owned – we can pick the best value product out of all the product available and pass the savings onto you.

Diversity – we have access to all tyre brands. We buy in bulk and pass the savings onto you.

 

3. Continual Improvement

Experience – our people have been in the business for many years and know their product well.

Latest technology – our building is purpose built with state-of-the-art equipment all brand new in 2021.
